September 2017 Update:
Fall may be in the air in the rest of the country, but for us the heat of summer persists. Carambola, guava and mango (this season has stretched much longer than usual) are still plentiful at our markets.
In an effort to be good environmental stewards we have stopped the use of styrofoam in all our markets and will no longer offer plastic bags at our UM Coral Gables market. We will expand this ban of plastic bags to all our markets by year’s end. We encourage our market visitors to bring their own reusable bags when they shop.
This year’s season kickoff at the Adrienne Arsht Center, ArtsLaunch, will be on Saturday, September 9 from 9am-5pm. Our farmers market will be hosting vendors offering crafts, arts, prepared foods and more. Join us for this day of free activities that includes arts, culture, food and fun; and engage with more than 120 local arts organizations while exploring the Center’s performance spaces.
We’re also happy to announce the return of our South Pointe farmers market on Saturday, September 16. We have returning vendors offering fresh local produce, fruit smoothies, Indian dips and breads, Argentinian empanadas, Peruvian ceviche, Venezuelan arepas, crafts, jewelry - and a few new vendors too. Visit our Facebook page for more updates.
